A scarce late 18th century or early 19th century complex profile moulding plane by Thomas CAULDWALL of Birmingham, circa 1798 - 1821.

Clear embossed mark 'CAULDWALL' to the toe.

Also stamped 'INCH 1/8' on the heel with hand written text, please see close-up images.

Plenty of early features.

Fitted with a good length original PARKES blade iron, a few minor surface spots, please see images.

Good boxing wear strip with one join.

Four fixing holes where a previous owner has used a temporary fence.

This plane has a number of old, treated and wax filled, worm exit holes.

Wonderful previous owner's stamp 'RICHARD WILLIAMSON'.
