A large antique (?) sliding door lock and key with hooked bolt by GIBBONS of Wolverhampton.

Believed to have come from the Cobbler's workshop of a Lincolnshire hospital.

Marked 'GIBBONS W HAMPTON' on the bronze/gunmetal front face.

Also stamped '5A' over 'FA'.

Complete with original key marked 'GIBBONS' to one side and 'COBBLER No 2' on the opposite side.

The case measures approximately 5¹/₂ inches in height by 7" depth and a little under ⁷/₈" in width.

The front face is 1¹/₂" by 8¹/₁₆" overall.

All parts move freely and lock securely.
