A good traditional beechwood marking gauge by HALE BROTHERS of Sheffield.

Marked 'HALE BROS SHEFFIELD' with the Horses Head trade mark to one side of the head stock.

Also stamped with the military Broad Arrow and '1944' to one side with a smaller Broad Arrow and '78' to the opposite side.

Boxwood thumb screw.

There are two small holes to one the end of the stem, use unknown, please see close-up image.

No previous owner's stamps other than the Broad Arrow marks.

A few minor surface knocks and scratches.
