A scarce early HENRY TAYLOR long thin bevel edge paring chisel.

Better known for their carving and turning tools, we see very few other early edge tools bearing the HENRY TAYLOR mark.

The thin blade flares from just over 1 3/8 inches (35mm) at the shoulders to a little over 1 1/2" or 39mm at the cutting edge.

Marked 'H TAYLOR SHEFFIELD' with the Acorn trade mark to the top of the blade and 'WARRANTED CAST STEEL' to the back.

A few minor surface scratches and spots, please see images.

Good London pattern octagonal boxwood handle with brass ferrule and the registered design number 'RD429721'.

Some mallet strike marks to the top.

Previous owners stamps 'S GRAY' and 'M'.

151/2 inches (394mm) overall length.
