An interesting reverse ogee with fillet profile wide moulding plane by GREENSLADE of Bristol.
Clear spring lines to the toe however maker's marks are to the heel not the toe.
Marked 'W GREENSLADE BRISTOL' and 'EXHIBITION MEDALS LONDON DUBLIN PARIS MELBOURNE', please see images.
Why would the manufacturer choose to stamp a plane on the heel?
This plane also widens from the shoulder to the sole, something we have not seen before.
Good length blade iron and original wedge.
A few minor surface knocks, scratches and staining spots, please see images.
No previous owners stamps.
27/8 inches wide, 97/16 inches overall length.
