Stick and rebate sash planes are used to cut the rebate and profile on sash window bars.

Although this example is similar in its construction and look to the typical stick and rebate planes that come along, it does have a number of interesting features.

Embossed mark 'G.KENNERLEY' on the toe, not a name we have come across before.

Smaller than normal at only 11⁷/₁₆ inches long by 1³/₄ inches wide.

Gracefully shaped rear handle and wedge finials.

Clear original setting out lines for the wedge and handle openings on the top of the stock.

This plane just has a little more finesse.

Fitted with two near full length blade irons and original wedges.

Previous owner's marks 'J.WESTALL' and 'C.JOHNSON'.

Four old, treated and wax filled, worm exit holes.
