A very scarce antique boxwood thermometer by Edward PRESTON & SONS of Birmingham.

Clearly marked 'E PRESTON & SONS TRADE MARK' with the EP trade mark to the top.

Fahrenheit scale from 0 to 130 degrees to the left side of the glass tube with FREEZING, TEMP RATE (temperate), SUMR HEAT (summer heat) and BLOOD HEAT to the right.

The red alcohol or spirit filled glass tube is intact.

French polished boxwood case with bevelled or rounded edges and brass fittings.
