A very scarce early American STANLEY No 92 cabinet makers' shoulder rabbet or rebate plane.

This type 1 example does not have the model number cast into the top section.

Also unique to the first models, the toe is made up of two parts which are cast separately and pinned together.  This would appear to be how the first hollow toe section was achieved, later replaced with the circular disc, please see close-up images.

The 92 can be used as a shoulder rebate plane or a chisel plane by removing the top section.

Fully adjustable mouth and cutter for coarse or fine work.

Fitted with a good length 3/4 inch unmarked cutter.

Clean mouth.

Mouth adjusting grub screw remains in the top section.

Very little of the nickel plating remains.

All parts move freely and tighten securely.

5¹/₂ inch sole.
