An unusual wooden compass plough plane by C JACOB of Strassburg (Strasbourg).

Marked 'C JACOB STRASSBURG' on the toe, although Strasbourg is part of France the German spelling has been used by this maker.

Also marked 'ALBUM No.74' on the heel.

This plane is similar to a normal plough but with a curved or compassed skate and no fence arms.  The fence on this plane, although curved to match the sole, is similar to that found on a moving fillister plane. 

Fitted with an unnamed 6mm (¹/₄ inch) blade iron.

No previous owner's stamps.

A few old, treated and wax filled, worm exit holes.

All parts move freely and tighten securely.
