A scarce handled wide moulding plane by John COCKBAIN of Carlisle, circa 1848 - 1962.

Quirk ogee and bead profile, probably a cornice or crown moulding plane.

Marked 'JNO COCKBAIN CARLISLE' to the toe.

Very good t boxing rarely found in planes by any other maker.

Original wedge, the blade iron appears to be a replacement, please see images.

A few minor surface knocks and scratches.

Previous owners stamp 'I WATSON'.
