A very tidy antique American STANLEY No 113 compass or circular plane.

Believed to be a type 2, circa 1880 - 1891.

Dismantled, cleaned, checked, oiled and reassembled.

The large sole adjusting knob is marked 'STANLEY RULE & LEVEL CO PATENTED SEPT 25 1877'.

Side cutter depth adjusting wheel with four holes and knurled edge.

Marked 'PATD JUNE 17 79' on the dovetailed lug that attaches the sole to the body.

Fitted with a good length 1³/₄ inch blade iron marked 'STANLEY PAT APL 1892', matching cap iron.  A little under 1⁵/₈ inches remain below the slot.

Ornate lever cap screw.

Retains much of its original black finish.

All parts move freely and tighten securely.
