A scarce, very little used and possibly unused No.2031 graduated set of 6 vintage MARPLES bevel edge butt chisels with Splitproof handles.

Believed to date from the 1950s.

These are the earlier genuine MARPLES Splitproof chisels with the round necks and believed by many to be the best of the MARPLES Splitproof chisels.

Sizes: 1/4, 3/8, 1/2, 5/8, 3/4 and 1 inch.

Marked (faint on two) 'W MARPLES & SONS SHEFFIELD ENGLAND' with the Shamrock trade mark on the blades.

Patches of the original protective grease remains, a few minor surface pitting and staining spots, please see images.

All have the red and yellow round Splitproof handles.

Between 7⁷/₈ (200mm) - 8¹/₈ inches (206mm) overall length.
