A fine and little used even numbered set of 18 skewed cabinet pitch hollows and rounds moulding planes by TURNER of Sheffield.

This half set of planes comes with excellent provenance in that they were the personal set of Henry Binnington, the head of manufacturing, workshops and craftsmen at the Sheard, Binnington & Co cabinet making factory in Doncaster.  Each plane is stamped 'H.BINNINGTON'.

This set comprises pairs of Nos.2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16 and 18, all are marked 'T TURNER QUEEN ST SHEFFIELD' to the toes with the relevant size and 'CABINET' stamped on each heel.

Excellent original blade irons with original wedges, all blades retain the majority of their original black finish.

The irons in this scarce cabinet pitch set are bedded at 62 degrees.

There is a small chip in front of the mouth on the No.14 round, please see close-up image.

Some very minor knocks and scratches with a few dark surface stains.

9¹/₄ inches overall length.

We believe you will struggle to find a better, cabinet pitch, set of planes.
