A wonderful same owner set of 45 antique carving tools.

The set includes 15 spoon tools, 12 straight tools, 7 fishtail gouges, 5 back bent gouges, 4 v tools and 2 fluteroni/macaroni tools.

Sizes range from 1/32 inch (1/2mm) to 1" (25mm).

Various makers including 14 by HERRING BROTHERS, 11 by FROST of Norwich, 10 with unclear or no maker's marks, 6 by HATTEN & BEDDALL and 4 by SJ ADDIS.

All have very attractive hardwood handles, the majority are octagonal with some having interesting and shapely ferrules.

The images provide a far better description than we ever could.

Each handle has the previous owner's initials 'W.C.S'.

Between 7 and 103/8 (178 - 264mm) overall.

Probably the best group of carving tools that we have seen in a very long time.
