An original wooden multi section puzzle hat block or Milliners' form.

From a former Stockport hat maker's tool kit.

This five section puzzle hat block is marked '6 78 79144' around the base.

Each external section slots over a dovetail on the centre block.

The crown measures approximately 8¹/₂ inches in diameter with the base being 7¹/₈ inches in diameter.

There are five old, wax filled, worm exit holes to the lower part of one section, please see close-up image.

Approximately 6¹/₄ inches tall.
