A scarce American STANLEY No.289 fillister and rebate or rabbet plane.

Produced from 1911 to 1948 and rarely seen on this side of the Atlantic.

Fitted with a good length 1⁷/₈ inch skewed cutter marked 'STANLEY MADE IN USA' with the Sweetheart trade mark.

Complete with depth stop, spurs and the unique fence and fence arm that are often mistakenly replaced by ones from a No.78 rebate plane.

The fence and depth stop can be fitted to both sides.

Retains much of its original black finish.

All parts move freely and tighten securely.
